zama

ZAMA, an officer of the Spanish Crown born in South America, waits for a letter from the King granting him promotion. The letter never arrives, and when Zama realizes he has lost everything waiting, he decides to join a hunt on a dangerous bandit. Zama leaves to distant lands, where he is taken prisoner and is sentenced to death. Knowing his life is at risk and free from his hopes of being transferred and promoted, he finds out that his only desire is to live. - Based on the renowned 1956 Argentine novel ZAMA by Antonio di Benedetto.
