Sumerian Pictures acquires North American rights to The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard
Sumerian Pictures has acquired the North American rights to The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard, a 2025 Tribeca Festival selection. The film stars Jessica Reynolds, known for Kneecap, and is directed by David Verbeek. The film is scheduled to premiere in the Netherlands on April 16, 2026.
The film tells the story of a feral young woman, raised by wolves, who is captured and abruptly thrust into the modern world. When a radical couple “rescues” her and shelters her on an abandoned oil rig, she discovers their intentions and is forced to decide for herself whether to take root in society or return to the wild.
Reynolds won the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the Galway Film Fleadh for her leading role. The cast also features Maria Jung, Naomi Kawase, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Nicholas Pinnock, Elon Duffy, and San Shella.
Sumerian Pictures will release the film nationally in U.S. theaters in February 2026. The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard is a co-production between Lemming Film, Deal Productions, Feline Films, Flash Forward Entertainment, Nukleus Film, and Lemming Film Belgium. LevelK Films handles international sales.
Director David Verbeek says: “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Sumerian to reintroduce the film to North American audiences after its premiere at Tribeca in New York. It has since journeyed from the Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan to Europe, and I’m very happy that its first release will be in the United States, where the film’s themes feel particularly urgent and relevant today.”
Rob Williams, President of Content Strategy at Sumerian Pictures, adds: “The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard is an ambitious and gorgeously-made film that defies convention, while remaining totally entertaining throughout.”
The deal was negotiated on behalf of Sumerian by Rob Williams, in collaboration with Tine Klint of LevelK Films.
