FULL CONTACT world premieres in competition TIFF
David Verbeek's FULL CONTACT has been selected for the new international Platform competition of the Toronto International Film Festival. Platform is a new programme comprised of 12 films of high artistic merit that demonstrate a strong directorial vision by significant international filmmakers. It will showcase films made in the spirit of true directors’ cinema: free, daring and transformative. An international jury, consisting of Jia Zhang-ke, Claire Denis and Agnieszka Holland, will choose the best competition film.

FULL CONTACT will be Verbeek’s sixth feature film and is a contemporary tale of a man trying to find a new purpose in his life after accidently bombing a school through a remotely operated drone plane. The project was also one of the fifteen projects selected for L’Atelier at the Film Festival Cannes 2011.
His ultra low budget debut film BEAT was selected in 2004 for the International Film Festival Rotterdam. SHANGHAI TRANCE participated in the Tiger competition of the festival, after which the film was selected for several international film festivals and received a release in China. His third film RU THERE had its world premiere in Cannes' Un Certain Regard. CLUB ZEUS and HOW TO DESCRIBE A CLOUD both experienced their world premiere at the IFFR, where Verbeek received a 'Return Of The Tiger "award for CLUB ZEUS.
FULL CONTACT is produced by Lemming Film in co-production with Nukleus Film (Croatia), Wild at Art and VPRO. The project is filmed on location in Croatia . The film is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and CoBO as an ‘oversteek plus’ project and by the Croatian Film Fund, through the HAVC Cash Rebate.
International Sales of the project is in the hands of the French sales agent BAC Films, which will also take care of the French Release.
Dutch distributor September Films will release the film in cinemas in 2016.
